Hope-Hempstead County Chamber Director Resigns

January 14, 2022, Hope, Arkansas, the Hope-Hempstead County Chamber Director, Beckie Moore, resigned at a Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, January 6, 2022.  Beckie, a Hope native, returned to Hope in 2017 to take on the duties of the local chamber.

The following statement was prepared by Beckie just as she shared it with the board.

“If you will recall in 2017, I stated that God was clearly leading me to return to my hometown to serve as the chamber director and to work alongside the Hope Downtown Network for the purpose of downtown business revitalization and historic preservation.  Since that time, I have been blessed to reconnect with my hometown in ways that I would have never imagined.  I will be forever thankful for the many opportunities of service that have unfolded in the last five years.

To say I appreciate our community is an understatement.  What a joy it has been to serve alongside the board of directors, chamber ambassadors, chamber members, plus outstanding city and county community partners.  Without you, we would not have been able to celebrate chamber and community growth.

During the course of my interview 5 years ago, I stated that my service to the chamber would continue for four or five years.  It is now time for me to step aside to allow someone else to take the chamber to the next level.  “Wherever He Leads I’ll Go” is a powerful hymn that touches the heart of my family for many reasons.   Just as God brought me home and placed me at the chamber, He is clearly opening a new door of service that will allow me to remain in Hope and to continue being a part of the community that I have loved my entire life.

Therefore, on February 28, 2022, I will begin serving as the Executive Director of the Klipsch Heritage Museum Association (KHMA), which includes the Klipsch Education Center, Klipsch Museum, Klipsch Auditorium and the soon-to-open Klipsch Visitors Center. The Visitors Center is a vital part of downtown business revitalization.  I will office at the center, so I am basically relocating a few blocks from my current office.   KHMA has powerful goals in place that include focusing on STEAM Education, strengthening community partnerships and tourism.

As I move on, I encourage you to embrace and fully support my successor whenever that day comes.  I will forever be a champion for chamber of commerce work.  Along with you, I will welcome and participate in plans that will allow for continued growth in Hope and Hempstead County.  I leave this place of service with a grateful heart that is overflowing with precious memories.”

Nathanial Holyfield, 2022 Chamber Board President, stated, “The entire board of directors wishes to thank Beckie for her five years of service as Executive Director of the Hope- Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce.  Beckie will be greatly missed.  She has been a valuable asset to the Chamber.  We wish her continued success in her future endeavors”.
